Lake Allegan - Allegan County Michigan

Lake Allegan is a widening of the Kalamazoo River created by the Calkins Bridge.
All sports activities are enjoyed on this fantastic lake, from fishing to boating to skiing.
Home sites tend to sit up high overlooking the Lake.
The Heritage Trail, a 122 mile loop around Allegan County has a handful of stops overlooking the lake.
The lake level is maintained through the dam at the Calkins Bridge.
Consumers Energy uses the water energy generated through the Hydro Project to feed electricity to the area.
Consumers Energy owns 5-10 feet of all lakefront. Each homeowner pays a $50 feet for a 10 year lease to use the lakefront.
The city of Allegan over looks Lake Allegan with a distinct boardwalk and historic one lane bridge.
